Terms of Use

Last updated: May 10, 2026

Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the bright-patcher website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access our website or use our services.

Services Provided

bright-patcher provides advisory and support services related to UK social benefits, including:

  • Benefit eligibility assessments
  • Application preparation and submission support
  • Appeals and tribunal representation
  • Ongoing claim management

Our services are advisory in nature. We assist with applications and appeals but do not guarantee specific outcomes, as final decisions rest with government departments and tribunals.

Service Engagement

Consultation

Initial consultations are provided to assess your situation and determine appropriate services. These consultations do not create a formal service agreement.

Service Agreement

A formal service agreement begins when:

  • You select and confirm a specific service
  • We provide a written service confirmation
  • Payment terms are agreed upon

Your Responsibilities

When engaging our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your circumstances
  • Supply requested documentation in a timely manner
  • Inform us promptly of any changes to your situation
  • Respond to communications within reasonable timeframes
  • Attend scheduled appointments or provide advance notice of cancellation

Our Responsibilities

We commit to:

  • Provide professional services with reasonable skill and care
  • Maintain confidentiality of your information
  • Communicate clearly about progress and any issues
  • Act in your best interests within the scope of our services
  • Comply with relevant laws and professional standards

Pricing and Payment

Service Fees

Service fees are clearly stated on our Services page and in service confirmations. All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable.

Payment Terms

  • Payment may be required in full before work begins or in agreed installments
  • Payment plans are available for services over £200
  • Late payments may result in service suspension
  • We accept bank transfers, debit cards, and credit cards

Refunds

Refund eligibility depends on the stage of service delivery:

  • Before work begins: Full refund minus administrative fee (£25)
  • Work in progress: Partial refund for uncompleted work
  • Work completed: No refund, as services have been delivered

Refunds are not provided for unsuccessful claims, as our service is the advisory work itself, not the outcome.

Cancellations and Termination

Your Right to Cancel

You may cancel services at any time by providing written notice. Fees will be calculated based on work completed to the date of cancellation.

Our Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to terminate services if:

  • You provide false or misleading information
  • You fail to make agreed payments
  • You fail to provide necessary documentation despite repeated requests
  • You engage in abusive or threatening behavior toward our staff

Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality regarding your personal information and case details, except:

  • When required by law or court order
  • When necessary to submit claims or appeals on your behalf
  • With your explicit written consent

Limitations and Disclaimers

No Outcome Guarantees

We cannot guarantee that any benefit claim or appeal will be successful. Government departments and tribunals make independent decisions based on eligibility criteria and available evidence.

Advisory Capacity Only

We provide advisory services and support with applications. We are not legal representatives, and our services do not constitute legal advice. For complex legal matters, we may recommend consulting a solicitor.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, bright-patcher's liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for:

  • Decisions made by government departments or tribunals
  • Delays in processing caused by third parties
  • Consequential damages or lost benefits
  • Information or documents you fail to provide
